Lilypie First Birthday tickers

2/27/11

I think I have found some of the good stuff! "Energy"

Today I am 15wks and 4days along!

Size of baby Symank:  about the size of a apple

Weight: lost about 12 pounds, have gained back about 5lbs that was lost.

Symptoms: some light sickness, I will feel really hungry and SUPER thirsty but my stomach just wont hold much.

Cravings: Cannot to the Ramen Noodle thing anymore. lol. Last week it was turkey sandwich, with pepper jack cheese, lettuce and jalapenos. Stuffed peppers and orange juice.

my doctor thought it was funny because i can keep spicy food down but nothing sweet. Also I can do cheese sometimes and a little of it but NO milk or other dairy items. I had a small cup of milk the other night to try it and it made me so sick and my stomach hurt for a day and a half because my body is digesting so slowly. It stinks because I'm a big cereal and milk person. and now I want milk! oh well not worth being sick over.

Movement: now at night when I'm still on the couch or laying in bed i feel so much movement! :) it was kinda funny to get used to at first. ;)

At 13w 5d we went to have a First Trimester scan. My doctor wanted to make sure everything looked good with the baby because I didn't get to feeling better as soon as she would have liked.
They measured the baby's nose bone and the skin on the back of the neck measuring for down syndrome. We chose not to have any of the other genetic blood work done. It really wouldn't matter to us, how ever God is sending this child we will accept and love with all we have. My mom had the scan done with my brother and didn't tell them anything and 6 months after he was born he was diagnosed with a genetic disorder. So why make yourself worry if you don't get a clear answer anyways.

On the other hand the doctor said the neck and nose looked good and he didn't see anything that would raise a flag. We also go to see our sweet little one putting on a show for us jumping everywhere! I couldn't stop laughing. We also got to see the baby in 4D. Pretty neat. At the end they gave us a CD which was nice because we weren't expecting one.

13 weeks!!!

Today I am 13 weeks and one day! 3months! This is one happy Momma and Daddy to be!

How Far Along: 13 weeks

Size of baby Symank:  about the size of a medium shrimp

Weight: lost about 12 pounds

Symptoms: ALL day sickness, headaches, tummy starting to harden, crazy dreams
and having trouble sleeping.

Cravings: The only thing i have been able to eat is Ramen Noodles

Movement:

This past week has been kind of rough I am still going to the doctor every week. My blood pressure has been out of control. 140/110
So they ran blood work on me and started me on blood pressure medicine that I have to take twice a day. I all so had to do a 24hr. urine culture so they could check for protein build up wich could mean preeclampsia. Thankfully the culture came back normal. Thank you lord. On the other hand the blood test showed that my protein is low so they have started me on a protein suppliment to build it back up. They will be keeping an eye on this because if it gets any lower I will be admitted to the hospital to get potassium in I.V form. Low potassium could lead to heart failure also with the high blood pressure could lead to a heart attack so I am just so thankful for such a wonderful doctor who truely takes the time and cares.

She also said I am dealing with Hyperemesis
Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is a severe form of morning sickness, with "unrelenting, excessive pregnancy-related nausea and/or vomiting that prevents adequate intake of food and fluids."[

SymptomsWhen HG is severe and/or inadequately treated, it may result in:

Loss of 5% or more of pre-pregnancy body weight

Dehydration, causing ketosis and constipation

Nutritional deficiencies

Metabolic imbalances

Altered sense of taste

Sensitivity of the brain to motion

Food leaving the stomach more slowly

Rapidly changing hormone levels during pregnancy

Stomach contents moving back up from the stomach

Physical and emotional stress of pregnancy on the body

Subconjunctival hemorrhage (broken blood vessels in the eyes)

Difficulty with daily activities

Other than that the baby's heart beat is right on track and it sure is a little wiggle worm.

12 Weeks

This week we got to hear the heart beat on the doppler. The sweetest sound in the world! Just made my heart melt. It was funny this time because when my doctor would find the heart beat the baby started squirming all around and was getting excited.

How Far Along: turned 12 weeks on (2-4-11)

Size of baby Symank: about the size of a lime
Weight: lost about 12 pounds

Symptoms: ALL day sickness, headaches, tummy starting to harden, crazy dreams
and having trouble sleeping.

Cravings: The only thing i have been able to eat is Ramen Noodles

Movement: None yet

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response.
His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

11 weeks

First time We got to hear our precious babys heart beat but that night we had a little scare. At 3am Tuesday Morning jan. 26 I woke up to use the restroom and noticed i was spotting and having some abdominal pain. So we went to the E.R to get it checked out. I was so nervous and having a hard time relaxing my mind to think positive. The doctor came in and listened to the babys heart beat and right where it should be 159bpm. Next the did an exam and he didn't see any blood coming from my cervix and the cervix was good and closed. So the got the results from my urine and there were traces of blood in my urine. I ended up having a horrible Urinary Infection so i started antibiotics. Just so thankful it wasn't anything too worry some. That was the worst feeling of the unknown.

How Far Along: turned 11 weeks on (1-28-11)

Size of baby Symank:Baby is the size of a Fig.

Weight: lost about 10 pounds

Symptoms: ALL day sickness, headaches, tummy starting to harden, crazy dreams
and having trouble sleeping.

Cravings: The only thing i have been able to eat is Ramen Noodles

Her hands will soon open and close into fists, tiny tooth buds are beginning to appear under her gums, and some of her bones are beginning to harden.

She's already busy kicking and stretching, and her tiny movements are so effortless they look like water ballet

10 weeks

How Far Along: 10 weeks
Size of baby Symank:Baby is the size of a kumquat. Weighs less than a quarter of an ounce. (Length: a little over 1 inch, head to bottom.)
Weight: lost about 10 pounds
Symptoms: ALL day sickness, headaches, tummy starting to harden, crazy dreams
and having trouble sleeping.
Cravings: I am lucky to even keep crackers down
Movement: None yet

a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature.
He/she swallowing fluid and kicking up a storm. Vital organs — including his kidneys, intestines, brain, and liver (now making red blood cells in place of the disappearing yolk sac) — are in place and starting to function, though they'll continue to develop throughout your pregnancy.
If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.
In other developments: Your baby's limbs can bend now. His/Her hands are flexed at the wrist and meet over his heart, and his feet may be long enough to meet in front of his body. The outline of his spine is clearly visible through translucent skin, and spinal nerves are beginning to stretch out from his spinal cord. Your baby's forehead temporarily bulges with his developing brain and sits very high on his head, which measures half the length of his body. From crown to rump, he's about 1 1/4 inches long. In the coming weeks, your baby will again double in size — to nearly 3 inches.
